I’m Sarah, your JCR Racial Equalities Officer!
As your racial equalities officer I am here to listen, represent, and advocate for you in the best way I can. I want all ethnic minority students to have a space where we can celebrate our cultures, share experiences, and talk openly about any challenges we face.
At JCR meetings and college committees, I will ensure our needs are vocalised and attended to, working closely with college staff to keep racial equity at the heart of decisions.
If you ever experience racism or discrimination, I’m here as a friendly point of contact — ready to support you and lead you to the relevant welfare services, or help with formal complaints if needed.
Please feel free to come up to me at any time or reach out by email to suggest ideas or concerns, or just to chat. I’m always here to listen and validate you.
Please know that you can report discrimination-related events with full control over your situation (no matter how big or small).
